The following is the result of the Press Club Election 2010 -2012   held on 24th July:

Presidential Election

Mr. Gurbir Singh has been elected as President unopposed.  

Chairman

Mr. Prakash Akolkar has been declared elected Chairman. He secured 286 votesMr. Sumant Mishra secured 111 votes.Total Number of votes polled are - 414Invalid votes are - 17.

Vice-Chairman

Mr. Santosh Bane has been declared elected Vice-


10 July 2010 AP sportscribe dies in harness at World Cup finals

It was very sad to learn about the death of Bob Millward, chief soccer writer for the Associated Press News Agency, dying even as he was in South Africa covering the World Cup soccer finals.

Millward, 58, is said to have died of natural causes. Millward was a widely respected British sports journalist who had worked for AP for more than 20 years, died after collapsing in his Johannesburg hotel room on Thursday.
